Through the Waters

Jeremy is still very weak. They are evaluating each day if he needs dialysis, so tomorrow may be different, but he didn’t get any today. One of the BIG prayers is for Jeremy’s kidneys to start working well so he is safe to undergo the transplant should that opportunity arrive soon. Pray that they will get him on the list ASAP (please, tomorrow). Pray that he can sleep tonight and that this mattress topper helps (thank you, Mark and Michelle)! He DID keep a Jim n Nick’s biscuit down (thank you Lindsay)! Pray that he can eat and drink and that the vomiting would be gone. Most of all, pray against the waves of doubt that are hitting—that both of us would have miraculously unwavering hope and trust and peace in our Savior.

Right now, we feel like the Israelites standing in front of the waves of the Red Sea, dabbling our toes in the water, listening to the roar of chariots and horses charging from behind us. We trust God will protect us and provide for us and will give us strength for whatever going through those waters looks like—but we don’t know when the waters will part or what the wilderness on the other side will be like. We are just praying for the seas to begin parting ways and some dry land to begin forming so we can move forward from the valley of the shadow of death.

Thank you for continuing to pray with us, for the encouragement, and for walking alongside our family!

Then I said, “I will appeal to this,

        to the years of the right hand of the Most High.”

I will remember the deeds of the LORD;

        yes, I will remember your wonders of old.

I will ponder all your work,

        and meditate on your mighty deeds.

Your way, O God, is holy.

        What god is great like our God?

Your way was through the sea,

        your path through the great waters;

        yet your footprints were unseen.

You led your people like a flock

        by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

—Psalm 77
